About this Event

Songs That Made Us is a vinyl-centered listening series created by Sanctuaire Hi-Fi, an alum of CLTRE’s EveryDay Creative program, in collaboration with CLTRE. Each edition invites a featured guest to compose a listening portrait through records that carry a story, question, practice, or truth that has lived with them.

For this first edition, José Medina joins Sanctuaire Hi-Fi to share a portrait through sound, sequence, and reflection. Over a one-hour presentation, the records and the movement between them will reveal something about how he listens, what has formed him, and what music makes possible in his life.

Developed with Sanctuaire Hi-Fi, the experience gives music room to unfold, with uninterrupted listening woven alongside the guest’s voice. It is an invitation to deepen attention, awaken memory, and encounter another person through their relationship with music.

CLTRE welcomes this collaboration as part of the Innovation Studio’s purpose: supporting creative ideas, providing a platform for EveryDay Creative alumni, and making space for new cultural experiences in Sacramento.
