East Coast DNA and Glasgow Square continue Songs From The Square — a monthly songwriter showcase highlighting Eastern Canadian artists in an intimate, listening-room setting built around storytelling, craft, and connection.
This edition features two distinct voices in contemporary songwriting, blending hip hop, storytelling, and culturally rooted lyricism in a focused, acoustic-forward afternoon performance.
🎤 Featuring
T3KILLAH (Tevin Nicholas):
T3KILLAH is a hip hop artist based in Nova Scotia, known for blending melodic delivery with emotionally grounded storytelling. Emerging from the province’s growing rap community, he has been steadily building a catalogue of singles that highlight his introspective writing style, including the atmospheric track “BLUE,” filmed at Moxy Halifax, and the collaborative release “Savage” featuring HellnBack and Gearl.
He has appeared in regional showcases such as the Marigold Cultural Centre’s Office Hours series, a platform highlighting new voices in Maritime music. With multiple releases across 2024–2026, T3KILLAH continues to shape a sound rooted in personal experience, community influence, and the evolving landscape of East Coast hip hop.
Gearl:
Gearl Francis is an Indigenous hip hop artist based out of Eskasoni, Nova Scotia. He has been a member of hip hop groups including 14-time award winners City Natives and ECMA nominees K.U.$.H, and has toured extensively across Canada and the United States. His recording catalogue includes appearances on five full-length City Natives albums (4 Kingz, Red City, Voltron, Nomadic, and Dream Catchers) as well as K.U.$.H’s Smoke Signals, along with collaborations with artists such as Joey Stylez, David Strickland, Miracle, KID, and Classified.
As a solo artist, Gearl released his debut album Reziduals in 2020 and continues to build on a growing body of work, now on his sixth solo album. His mandate is to share personal experiences of Indigenous life in the Maritimes while promoting appreciation and knowledge of Mi’kmaq language and culture. He remains an active and evolving voice within Canadian hip hop.
