About this Event
, we inspire deeper connection to ourselves, each other, and the Earth through song. We believe in the healing, freedom, and joy that can come through communal singing, and aim to make that experience more widely accessible.
"Communal Songcatching" is a process of spontaneously and collaboratively creating songs together. With an equal emphasis on storytelling, deep listening, and improvisation, we use real stories from our lives as inspiration, drawing out words, phrases, and themes to create songs in the moment.
Our Fall Songcatching Cohort has been meeting for the past 5 weeks, and honing our skills in this practice. Now, we want to share this practice with YOU, our friends, family, and community.
Additionally, in our songcatching practice, we use real stories from people's lives as inspirations for our songs - so you have a role to play too, and a unique opportunity to share a story and hear it turned into a song.
While you are primarily being invited just to witness the process & share stories, there will be moments where you'll be invited to join in with the singing. It's always up to you to choose how you want to participate.
