About this Event

Do you want to expand on your creativity, whilst getting to try out some of the latest products from Sony? If so, then join us for this photo and video photo walk in the vibrant region of Soho in London where photographer and Sony expert Yannis Karalis will be on hand to help you do just that!

During this photo & video walk (expected to run for approximately 2 hours), Yannis will take you around some of the best locations in Soho, offering tips on street photography composition, how to best capture portraits in natural light, and how your camera can be used to shoot for both stills and video for maximum creative flexibility. Throughout the session there will also be plenty of opportunity to try out a variety of different Sony lenses.

Whether you're a seasoned shooter or just starting out, Yannis will be on hand throughout the walk to provide personalised advice and guidance on the latest gear, techniques, and tips to help you get the most out of your photography or videography.

A brief overview on what you will do on this photo / video walk:

  • Navigate and understand the Sony menu system in action
  • Explore street photography techniques
  • Capture portraits in natural light
  • Photograph people in action around the Soho area
  • Learn how to observe and understand your surroundings to create more compelling images
  • Switch quickly between photography and videography modes for maximum creative flexibility

This session is interactive. Therefore, if you already own a Sony camera, please ensure you bring it along, with some memory to ensure you can take your shots home with you. A selection of cameras and lenses will be available for you to test out during this walk on a first-come first-served basis, including Cinema Line FX2, announced earlier in 2025. We will try out best to accommodate everyone, subject to availability.

Please note; if you would like to borrow a Sony camera or lens for the purposes of this photo walk, please ensure you bring a valid photo ID with you on the day.

As this is an event in association with Sony UK, shooting with other brands during this walk will not be permitted.

This session is limited to just 10 delegates.

The photo walk will end back at Park Cameras at 34 Rathbone Place, where Yannis will be available to discuss further information about the kit or techniques he has demonstrated.

This walk will be at a leisurely pace and is mainly on the level ground. There will be plenty of time allowed for you to get your shots. It is also recommended to bring a coat and/or an umbrella, as the weather can be unpredictable. If conditions are wet, Yannis may adjust the route to allow shots from sheltered locations. Please also bring a bottle of water (or flask with a hot drink) to ensure you keep hydrated for the duration of the walk. Unfortunately due to the nature of the walk, there will be no designated rest stop.
