About this Event
At the turn of the century and through the Depression Era, American workers were subject to horrific oppression, and in response, organized and fought (often physically) to win some of the greatest gains for labor in the history of our country. At the heart of the rise in unionism was the labor song - rallying cries sung in groups that spoke to the struggle of the common person. This event celebrates the role of singing and joy in our movement.
The evening will feature Pop-Up Karaoke with a professional emcee and a high-tech setup from 8-11pm. The emcee will also DJ the cocktail hour from 7-8. At the end of the night from 11-12 we will have a live performance of classic labor songs traditionally performed as a chorus and the crowd will be provided with lyrics and sing along. Keep an eye out for the official playlist for the performance! Tickets are limited due to venue capacity. Get your tickets ASAP!
There will be a bar for those 21+ with beverages for sale and a polaroid photo booth for $5 per photo. We encourage attendees to dress according to the theme - whatever that may mean to you!
There is no parking for the venue so only local street parking is available. We will be on the second floor, and unfortunately, there is no elevator available at this time. If you would like to make any special arrangements for accessing the space please do not hesitate to reach out.
