About this Event
This is a space to honour our ancestors, to celebrate the daily accomplishment of being alive. It is a space that will hold the pain you’ve poured onto the page and will offer you the grace that has always been your birthright.
Each reading will consist of one feature reader plus an open mic. Open mic is limited to 3 minutes (please time your readings). Sign up for open mic at 6:30pm.
$5-10 suggested donation
Phillip Dwight Morgan is a Toronto-based essayist, playwright, journalist and editor of Jamaican heritage. His work has appeared in The Walrus, Maclean's, Brick Literary Journal, CBC News, and Toronto Star, among others. He is the 2025 winner of the RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers (nonfiction) and was cited by the jury as “a vital voice in the urgent work of witness and truth-telling today.”
