Skegness Pier Angling Club are fishing their Biggest Fish Rover Match on Sunday 25th October at several different beaches along the Lincolnshire coast. Boundaries are Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary to Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve. The match is an open and club members will be competing for the Kingsley Cup and Extra league prizes. Please contact Russ Parsons, Chas or reply going to this invite if you would like to fish. Booking-in and match rules will be provided on the day at HQ - Big Catch Tackle, Trunch lane, PE24 5TU, at 14:30.
Weigh-in is at the shop. One fish only is to be retained for the scales being the biggest of your catch by weight.
Scales close one hour after the end of the match at 20:30hrs.
In this match, winning isn't about the number of fish caught, but rather catching the single heaviest fish. This change in format gives all participants an equal opportunity to win prizes, unlike standard matches where top anglers' casting and speed-fishing skills would be vital advantages to win. Species to expect are dabs, dogfish, flounders and whiting with a few bass, rays and smooth hounds still around. Fresh ragworm is available to order on 01754872631 along with a full range of frozen baits and tackle from the shop.
We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.
