About this Event
Whether you're putting on skates for the first time, returning after a break, or ready to take your skating to the next level, Skate Skill Training is where your Glide & Flow journey begins.
Skate Skill Training is our skate fundamentals programme, designed to help you build the essential skills, technique and confidence needed to become a stronger, safer and more controlled skater. We focus on helping you understand how to move well on skates. You'll develop balance, control, coordination, movement and technique while progressing at a level that's right for you.
Beginner / Improver
Building the foundations of confident skating.
Choose this level if you're new to skating, returning after time away, or still developing confidence with the fundamentals.
We'll work on balance, body position, starting and stopping, forward skating, weight transfer, turning, control and coordination.
Best for: New skaters and developing improvers.
What to Expect
Expect a structured, supportive session focused on helping you become a more confident and capable skater.
Sessions combine coaching, demonstrations, guided practice and time to develop your skills at your own pace.
We believe progress looks different for everyone. Our aim is to challenge you while creating an environment where you can learn, practise and enjoy the process.
What to Bring
Please bring:
- Your roller skates
- Protective equipment
- A bottle of water
- Comfortable clothing suitable for movement
We recommend wearing clothing that allows you to move freely
Safety
Safety is an important part of the Glide & Flow experience.
We strongly recommend appropriate protective equipment, particularly while learning new skills.
Please follow your coach's instructions throughout the session and let the team know before starting if you have any concerns that may affect your participation.
Arriving for Your Session
Please arrive with enough time to check in, put on your skates and protective equipment, and be ready for the start of your session.
Most importantly, come ready to learn, move and enjoy your skating.
Before Your First Session
Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Glide & Flow. Before you join your first class, we ask every participant to complete our participant waiver. It's a quick online form that confirms you're happy to take part, and it lets our coaches look after you properly.
Please complete it before you arrive so you can walk straight in, lace up, and get rolling.
