An Evening with Tenuta Aurea Founder Lillo Curi
This November, Sip & Savor returns to Metropolis Ballroom for an evening that takes you beyond the glass and into the heart of Tuscany.
Join us on Thursday, November 12 as we welcome Lillo Curi, Founder & President of Tenuta Aurea, for an intimate guided tasting through a collection of wines representing some of Tuscany's most celebrated winemaking traditions.
Raised in the Tuscan countryside, Lillo's connection to wine began in the vineyard itself. From an early age, he learned the rhythms of the land firsthand, cultivating, pruning and harvesting alongside generations of farmers before going on to spend years sharing Tuscan wine and culture around the world.
Now, he brings that story to Metropolis Ballroom.
From Tuscany to Your Glass
Tenuta Aurea is rooted in the hills of Tuscany near San Gimignano, along the historic Via Francigena, where vineyards, medieval towns and centuries of agricultural tradition shape the landscape.
Throughout the evening, Lillo will personally guide guests through six Tuscan wines, sharing the places, traditions and stories behind each bottle.
This isn't simply a tasting. It's an opportunity to experience Tuscany through someone who calls it home.
The Wine Journey
The evening's featured selection will explore six expressions of Tuscan wine:
Vernaccia di San Gimignano
A celebrated Tuscan white with deep roots in the hills surrounding San Gimignano.
Chianti Riserva
An expression of one of Tuscany's most recognizable wine traditions.
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva
A distinguished red representing the historic vineyards surrounding Montepulciano.
Cabernet Sauvignon
A richer expression showcasing Tuscany's ability to bring international varieties into its distinctive landscape.
Brunello di Montalcino
One of Tuscany's most renowned wines, rooted in the hills surrounding Montalcino.
Super Tuscan Blend
A modern side of Tuscan winemaking, bringing tradition and creative blending together in the glass.
Dinner, Designed Around the Experience
Sip & Savor pairs the evening's guided tasting with an Italian-inspired multi-course dinner, thoughtfully designed to complement the progression of wines.
The complete menu is currently being crafted and will be announced soon.
Expect an evening centered around good food, thoughtful pairings and the Italian tradition of slowing down around the table.
Meet Lillo Curi
Founder & President, Tenuta Aurea
Lillo Curi grew up surrounded by the land and agricultural traditions of Tuscany.
His education in wine began not in a classroom, but in the vineyard, learning firsthand from farmers whose understanding of the land had been shaped over generations.
Over the years, Lillo worked across the different stages of viticulture and later spent decades traveling and presenting Tuscan wines around the world.
Tenuta Aurea represents his personal interpretation of Tuscany: sincere, grounded in its agricultural roots and centered around the belief that wine is ultimately about the people, places and moments shared around a table.
On November 12, guests will have the opportunity to hear those stories directly from Lillo as he guides the evening's tasting.
