About this Event
Ever opened the cabinet under your sink, taken one look at the pipes, and slowly closed the door? This workshop is for you.
Join Tammy Watson, founder of Canadian Handywoman, for a practical, hands-on session designed to demystify what is happening under your sink. Whether you have a slow drip, a loose faucet, or just want to know where the shut-off valve is before an emergency happens, we will make it all make sense.
This isn’t about becoming a plumber—it’s about understanding your own home so you can tackle basic maintenance with confidence and avoid unnecessary service calls.
🛠️ What You’ll Learn & Practice
- Anatomy Under the Sink: What the pipes, P-traps, supply lines, and shut-off valves actually do.
- Diagnosing Drips & Leaks: How to spot common issues early and know what to check first when water appears.
- Faucet Fundamentals: How cartridges, aerators, and handles work together—and how to fix a weak stream or steady drip.
- The Right Tools for the Job: How to use basic plumbing tools properly without stripping threads or forcing anything.
- When to DIY vs. When to Call a Pro: Clear guidelines on what you can easily handle yourself and when it’s time to call a licensed professional.
💡 What to Expect
- Small Group, Hands-On Practice: You’ll see the parts up close, examine real demonstration setups, and walk through step-by-step scenarios.
- Safe, Zero-Judgment Environment: Ask all the "dumb" questions you want. No one is going to rush you or take the tools out of your hands to "fix it for you."
- All Materials Included: Just bring yourself! All tools, materials, and safety equipment are provided on-site.
