The Golden Gate Chapter of the Vintage Volkswagen Club of America is having its annual VW Pumpkin Run from Santa Clara to Half Moon Bay on Saturday the 24th of October. We will depart exactly at 10 am from Harbor Freight in Santa Clara. Please remember to Fill Up your Gas Tank. Some of us will start to congregate, socialize and get bagels at 9 am. Another group will be coming from the coast to meet us at Saratoga Gap on Skyline at 10:30 am. Maps will be provided at the starting point of the event. The journey from the Santa Clara County area will begins in on Stevens Creek and slowly cruises Lawrence Expy. To Saratoga up Highway 9 to Skyline and meet up at Saratoga Gap. Then North on Skyline and to Alice's Restaurant then left at 84 to La Honda to have a coffee break at reflection lake in La Honda. Then back down 84 then left on Pescadero Creek Rd. through the long way to join up at Loma Mar Outpost for a brief stop. Next down to Highway 1 then North to Bob's Pumpkin Farm on the PCH. Our typical cruise will follow this route. The Gory Details:
After we depart at 10 am from Harbor Freight in Santa Clara.
1st Brief Stop just after we get to Lawrence Expy. to gather the caravan.
-Down Lawrence Expy. Right at Saratoga Ave.
2nd Brief Stop just after going under 280 on Saratoga Ave.
-Straight to downtown Saratoga to 9 up to Skyline Blvd. Right on Skyline Blvd.
-Stop at the top, Saratoga Gap Parking, 10 minutes, then back onto 84 going North.
-All the way to Alice’s Restaurant Left on 84 / La Honda Rd. west toward downtown La Honda.
3rd stop for coffee break & snacks in La Honda, just after downtown / fire station turn left at Apple Jack’s on to Entrada Way, one block down to Reflection Lake near community Recreation Center.
4th stop at Loma Mar Outpost, 8132 Pescadero Creek Rd.
Next down Pescadero Creek Rd. towards Highway 1 the long way to “PCH”, right on Highway 1 going North to our Final stop at Bob’s Pumpkin patch.
