Signed, Sealed, Delivered explores the story of the United States Postal Service through the lens of one of North Topeka's most treasured landmarks: the building that is now the NOTO Art Center. Constructed in the early 1920s as the North Topeka Post Office Substation, this historic building served generations of residents as a place of connection, communication, and community. Through historic photographs, newspaper articles, memorabilia, and local stories, visitors will discover the important role the post office played in everyday life while also learning about the broader history of the American postal system. The exhibit also highlights the remarkable tradition of early twentieth-century post office murals that brought art into public spaces across the nation.Designed for visitors of all ages, Signed, Sealed, Delivered features interactive stations where guests can sort mail, design their own postage stamp, and explore hands-on activities that blend history, creativity, and learning. A special exhibit of artist-painted mailboxes created by local artists will be on display and available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the NOTO Art Center. Whether you fondly remember the North Topeka post office, are a homeschool family seeking an engaging educational experience, or simply enjoy art, local history, and interactive exhibits, this exhibition offers something for everyone.
Join us for the opening celebration on First Friday, November 6, 2026 in the Redbud Room of the NOTO Art Center and rediscover the stories delivered through this historic North Topeka landmark.
Open through November 28 during regular Arts Center hours.
