After last year's success, Siam Sinfonietta returns with another year of Daiku, the beloved Japanese tradition of celebrating Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
Few works in music carry the weight, ambition, and sheer joy of Beethoven's Ninth. Composed by a nearly deaf Beethoven, it ends with the "Ode to Joy," a finale that brings human voices into the symphony and still stirs audiences nearly two centuries later.
Siam Sinfonietta, led by conductor Somtow Sucharitkul, brings this monumental work to Bangkok with an international quartet of soloists: soprano Reiko Arai, countertenor Potprecha Cholvijarn, tenor Shoya Okawa, and baritone John Tneoh.
Presented in collaboration with The Bangkok Opera Foundation, Chulalongkorn University, and Nippon Parking Development Co., Ltd.
Join us for an evening of music that has united audiences across cultures and generations.
