If you're looking for a new workout for the summer, or are easing back from an injury, come try SHIFT at STEMful. SHIFT is a martial arts-based fitness designed for body & brain, using movement patterns rooted in martial arts, emphasizing functional strength, coordination & balance:
Combat Intelligence
Striking mechanics, defensive footwork, and spatial awareness drawn from boxing, Muay Thai, and tactical movement systems.
Functional Strength
Compound lifts, loaded carries, and ground-based patterns that build real-world durability — not just gym numbers.
Movement Flow
Mobility sequences and transitional drills that restore range of motion and connect strength to agility.
Adaptive Programming
Periodized phases that cycle intensity and focus. Your training shifts as you do — progressive, responsive, intentional.
S.H.I.F.T. is an evolution of 10 years of training data developed through , a user-based self defense program from Berlin that combines martial arts, cognitive behavior practice and natural movement that has transformed the lives of thousands of women around the world.
SHIFT opens its full gym in September 2026 — a dedicated space with a complete class roster from 6AM to 10PM.
Until then, we're running Friday night sessions in Bernal Heights: Two hours, 20 people, the full methodology.
S.H.I.F.T. sessions are small and structured, designed to enhance mind-body connection and deepen your understanding of movement, function and control.
