Black women, join us every fifth Tuesday our Shelf Care Book Club, led by award-winning author and yogi Arriel Vinson! During each book club meeting, we’ll begin with a 30-minute yoga flow and end by reflecting on a book that explores wellness and self-care. This month's book is The Afrominimalist's Guide to Living with Less by Christine Platt. (Note: Please bring your own mat, but props will be provided!)

Facilitator bio:
Arriel Vinson started taking her yoga practice seriously in 2021 to counteract her stressful work life. What she discovered was a clearer mind, a desire to deepen her practice, and a calling to make more space for Black practitioners. As a RYT-200, certified by Cityoga in Indianapolis, Arriel hopes to show students that yoga is more than a fitness practice: meditation, breathwork, and asanas create a path toward understanding ourselves, and the world, better. They’re tools for liberation, resistance, and community building. An author by profession, Arriel incorporates journaling and affirmations into her classes to emphasize the constant need for loving ourselves and finding compassion in a society that often encourages the opposite. She is honored to guide you in whatever your yoga practice may reveal.
