ARTS Southeast is pleased to host Shea Slemmer in the ON::View Artist Residency for the month of November!About the artist: Shea Slemmer (b. 1977) is a Savannah-based artist originally from Ocala, Florida. She earned her BFA from the University of North Florida and has worked in studios in Savannah, Manhattan, and Marfa, Texas. Since 2003, Slemmer has maintained a studio practice in Savannah’s Starland District, witnessing the neighborhood’s transformation and developing a lasting connection to its creative community.
Her paintings are held in private collections throughout the United States and Europe. She has exhibited at the Telfair Museum, Laney Contemporary, Sweet Lorraine Gallery in Brooklyn, and Rick Wester Fine Art in New York City. Her work has also been featured in publications including Luxe, Atomic Ranch, Studio Visit Magazine, Savannah Magazine, and South Magazine.
Believing in art’s ability to restore a sense of balance and expand perspectives, Slemmer creates paintings that invite viewers into spaces that feel both deeply familiar and full of possibility.
