The Titanic was the pride of Belfast, built by thousands of skilled men at Harland & Wolff during the height of the city’s shipbuilding era. But her sinking brought immense heartache and changed her story forever. On this walk, go beyond the museum galleries and discover the places where her story began — from the historic slipways where Titanic was built and launched, to the former Harland & Wolff headquarters and the docks that shaped Belfast’s maritime heritage.
Walk in the footsteps of the men who built her, hear the stories of the people behind the ship, and discover the pride, craftsmanship and ambition that made Belfast one of the world’s great shipbuilding cities. Along the way, you’ll hear the Belfast saying “She was alright when she left here” — an example of our dark Belfast humour, not said out of disrespect, but as a light-hearted way of remembering our pride in the people who built her and the city that sent her into the world.
Tour takes approximately 90 minutes and is 1.7 miles (roughly 4000 steps).
