About this Event
With his 2026 release "Autechre Guitar", American musician Shane Parish has been recognised as one of the most inventive and idiosyncratic guitar players working within the broad boundaries of contemporary experimental music.
A composer and arranger in his own right, Shane's recent solo works focus on interpreting music by others not originally written for guitar, including Alice Coltrane, John Cage, Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk, Ornette Coleman, and Charles Mingus
His arrangements of pieces by British duo Autechre have received unanimous critical acclaim, including reviews in The Quietus, Mojo, Wire, Spin and more. Pitchfork called the record 'an improbable feat of dexterity finding graceful new forms in [Autechre's] brain-bending tangles'.
This will be Shane's Liverpool debut and one of only a handful of UK shows - not to be missed!
Support comes from Benjamin D. Duvall, founder of the group Ex-Easter Island Head described by The Guardian as encapsulating "Some of the boldest experiments in British music"
