Do you like the deep cuts? We like the deep cuts. 👑Monday, Nov 16 at Deep Ellum Art Co in Deep Ellum. 8pm.
If Shakespeare were a vinyl shop, KING JOHN is what the person working the counter would tell you to buy. The last surviving son of Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine fights to keep his crown against the armies of France, the politics of the Vatican, a rebellion of his own nobles, and a kid with a better claim to the throne. And watching it all is the best character Shakespeare ever wrote, a guy literally called the Bastard, in a play you’ve never seen. We’re fixing that.
Show specials, each one a character:
🍻 THE BASTARD: red ale + a shot of rye. Best lines in the play, no inheritance, the only one having a good time.
🍻 THE BLANCHE: Mexican lager + a shot of blanco tequila. Married off to end the war. The peace lasts about a scene.
🍻 THE DAUPHIN: tropical hazy IPA + a snaquiri. The French heir. Small, ambitious, arrives with tropical fruit.
Tickets are $20: https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/shakespeareeverywhere/shakespeare-everywhere-presents-king-john-197347157
