About this Event
This event is only open to unpaid carers living in or caring for someone in Edinburgh and Midlothian.
About the event: Learn about the meaning and symbolism behind omamori while making a unique charm to keep for yourself or give as a thoughtful gift.
This relaxing and creative workshop is suitable for beginners and all sewing abilities. No previous experience is needed, as you will learn a simple stitching technique to create your own beautiful handmade charm. It’s a fun opportunity to explore Japanese culture, get creative, and enjoy the mindful process of hand stitching.
Delivered by: Kanae Park, a Japanese artist and designer based in Glasgow. Her work draws on the charm and storytelling of her cultural heritage, creating playful characters that celebrate connection and joy. Alongside her practice, she leads creative workshops in calligraphy, printmaking, and other hands-on techniques, making art accessible, welcoming, and fun for all.
