Sessions at Stained Glass is a monthly concert series from the music studio of Peter Smith. For vol. 23, we're brining back the mighty Roy McCurdy on drums, along with members of his band Rickey Woodard (tenor) and Mike Gurrola (bass). Peter Smith will play piano and Patrice Quinn (from Kamasi Washington's group and the West Coast Get Down) will be our featured vocalist on a handful of songs. Roy enjoys a legendary career in Jazz, playing on hundreds of recordings and serving as the long time drummer in the bands of Cannonball Adderley and Nancy Wilson.
There will be light refreshments served, free of charge.
Stained Glass Music Studio is located in the First Baptist Church of Pasadena. Parking meters are not enforced on Sunday. Alternately, you can park in the garage at 150 E. Holly Street 91101. You can park in any blank spot or any spot marked "First Baptist Church." Bring in your garage ticket for validation. Someone will meet you at the front door on Marengo and guide you upstairs. Important*: there are two short flights from the second floor (8 steps each) up to the studio, which are unavoidable. There is no elevator access to the space itself.
