The Glav Band is a U.S.-based contemporary smooth jazz band bringing together original music, infectious grooves, and the unmistakable energy of live performance. Led by Russian-born saxophonist Sergei Govorov, the band brings its own distinctive accent to contemporary American smooth jazz — shaped by Govorov’s European musical background and classical training, and blended with the sounds of funk, soul, pop, and contemporary instrumental music.
Built around the expressive voice of the saxophone, The Glav Band combines sophistication with accessibility, creating music that is polished yet alive. The repertoire features original compositions alongside fresh interpretations of music associated with smooth jazz icons such as Kenny G and Grover Washington Jr.
