C'è un pianto che non appartiene al tempo, un grido d'acqua e di luna che attraversa gli oceani per trovare rifugio nel nostro cerchio.
Nel cuore del Tempio della Grande Dea di Roma, ci raccogliamo per una notte di storytelling dedicata a La Llorona, la donna che piange lungo i fiumi.
Storicamente e simbolicamente, La Llorona è molto più di una leggenda popolare dell'America Latina: è la custode di un dolore ancestrale.
Le sue radici affondano nei miti pre-ispanici delle Grandi Madri mesoamericane, come Cihuacóatl, la Donna Serpente, divinità della terra e della fertilità che, secondo le cronache azteche, pianse amaramente la sventura del suo popolo prima della caduta.
Quando i conquistatori spagnoli giunsero nelle Americhe, questo archetipo si fuse con le antiche figure europee delle madri dolenti e con i miti delle acque liminali, trasformandosi nel simbolo eterno della ferita collettiva, della perdita e della voce delle donne che la storia ha cercato di ridurre al silenzio.
In questa serata, le parole non saranno semplici racconti, ma unguento per le ferite invisibili. Lasceremo che il mito ci attraversi per sciogliere ciò che è rimasto congelato dentro, trasformando le lacrime in un fiume di consapevolezza e sorellanza.
La Grande Dea ci attende per accogliere ogni frammento della nostra storia.

There is a weeping that does not belong to time, a cry of water and moon that crosses the oceans to find refuge in our circle.
In the heart of the Temple of the Great Goddess of Rome, we gather for a storytelling night dedicated to La Llorona, the woman who weeps along the rivers.
Historically and symbolically, La Llorona is much more than a Latin American folk legend: she is the keeper of ancestral pain.
Her roots sink deep into the pre-Hispanic myths of the Mesoamerican Great Mothers, such as Cihuacóatl, the Serpent Woman, goddess of earth and fertility who, according to Aztec chronicles, wept bitterly over the misfortune of her people before the fall.
When the Spanish conquerors arrived in the Americas, this archetype merged with ancient European figures of sorrowful mothers and with the myths of liminal waters, transforming into the eternal symbol of collective wound, loss, and the voice of women whom history tried to silence.
On this evening, words will not be mere tales, but an ointment for invisible wounds. We will let the myth flow through us to thaw what has remained frozen inside, transforming tears into a river of awareness and sisterhood.
The Great Goddess awaits us to embrace every fragment of our story.
