The Performance:
In this Honours Mid-Year recital Venetia Edwards collaborates with a lighting student to utilize the manipulation of lighting design to reflect the development of instrumentation and emotion within the musical performance to heighten the atmospheric immersion the audience experiences. Though the pieces are vastly different from one another the thread that ties them together is the concept of growing and changing across the recital.
With a range of styles and moods being showcased through Venetia's Compositions and choice of repertoire this will be a lively and memorable event with her focus of emotional portrayal and experience as the guiding light of the performance. The devotion Venetia holds in the relationship between singing and emotion has inspired her to pursue this topic in her Honours research dissertation, this sentiment being at the forefront of her musical presentation. Venetia's audience will have the chance to experience her growth and musical passions in this captivating exhibition.
