About this Event
Housing Support for Young People Impacted by Extra‑Familial Harm
Housing insecurity is one of the most persistent and complex challenges facing young people exposed to violence, exploitation and other risks occurring outside the family home, defined as extra‑familial harm (EFH). Yet there remains limited evidence on the scale of need and what effective housing responses look like for young people who may need to relocate quickly and safely.
To address these gaps, London’s Violence Reduction Unit in collaboration with UCL has undertaken a systematic review focused on the housing needs of 16–25‑year‑olds impacted by extra‑familial harm.
This seminar and roundtable event will bring together practitioners, policymakers, housing providers and researchers to share emerging insights from the research, reflect on current practice, and options for collaborative and co-ordinated responses to this harm in London.
