About this Event
🎶 About the Event
Many years ago, a group of Morley College electric guitar students asked themselves a simple question: What’s next?
Start a band? But how?
With guidance from Morley tutors, the Rock & Pop Band course was born — bringing musicians together and training them to perform live.
From that very first course emerged The Tired Starlings, now known as Selfish Jean — still rocking South London to this day. Expect sharp songwriting, tight musicianship, and proper South London energy.
Joining them are Midrange Tsunami, featuring Morley staff (past and present), performing a wide-ranging set of songs and styles — from unexpected deep cuts to well-loved favourites.
Plus special guests.
And when the bands finish… the stage is yours.
🎤About the EventKaraoke After-Party
Stick around as TAM transforms into a late-night singalong session. Big tunes, guilty pleasures, power ballads — no judgement, just good vibes.
A full night of live music, community spirit, and unfiltered fun — from the classroom to the stage, then straight to the mic.
🍷 Food, Drinks & Supporting TAM
Delicious food is available from the amazing traders at Mercato Metropolitano, right outside the door — arrive early, eat well, and settle in for the night.
🥂 All drinks must be purchased from the TAM Bar inside the venue.
The bar is one of the main ways this place survives. Every drink helps pay the artists, the sound engineers, the door staff, and the people who keep nights like this possible.
We ask that drinks bought elsewhere in Mercato aren’t brought into the venue. Any outside drinks will incur a small £5 charge per drink — not as a penalty, but as a way of keeping things fair and keeping the lights on.
When you buy a drink at the TAM bar, you’re not just having a pint or a glass of wine —
you’re directly supporting the music, the people behind it, and the community in the room.
🚫 Important Notes
Flexibility: Running times are subject to change due to the nature of live performances. Stay tuned for updates.
Drinks Policy: Please support the venue by purchasing your drinks at the TAM bar - it’s what helps keep these events free and thriving. Drinks brought in from outside will incur a £5 charge per drink.
Supporter Tickets: Although most of our events are free to enter, and we try to keep live music as accessible as possible, we are faced with numerous challenges as an independent live music venue. As a result, we kindly ask you to consider purchasing a Supporter Ticket when attending our events. By doing so, you can be confident that you are helping to support TAM as a venue, as well as the incredible artists you see on stage every single day! Your support is greatly appreciated.
