We have all heard the advice to practice Self Care, but what does that actually mean, and how do we do it? What if you had a tool box of self care strategies, so that you would know what to do when life throws you challenges?

Join us for a workshop where we discuss ways to calm your nervous system, reduce the effects of stress and work through life’s challenges. And that’s not all! You will have opportunities to practice the skills and will leave with a 30 day plan to implement that resonate with you the most.

Due to the interactive nature of the workshop, seats are limited to 15.

Rani Hoff received both her MPH in chronic disease epidemiology and her PhD in mental health services research and psychiatric epidemiology from Yale University School of Public Health. Dr. Hoff served until 2025 as Director of the Northeast Program Evaluation Center (NEPEC), responsible for program evaluation of mental health services in the Department of Veterans Affairs nationally. She was also the Director of the Evaluation Division of the National Center for PTSD. At the national level, Dr. Hoff advised senior leadership within the VA Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention and other areas of VA Central Office regarding VA performance with respect to mental health services and programming. Her research has examined risk factors and correlates of psychiatric disorders and suicide behaviors, with particular attention paid to co-occurring disorders and vulnerable populations; mental health service provision in both VA and non-VA settings, including the contribution of community and background environmental factors in the quality of care and clinical outcomes; and the epidemiology of behavioral addictions. Her research and career have given her an extensive background in mental health systems, including effective methods for individuals to self-manage stress, trauma and other mental health symptoms. As an Emeritus Professor, Dr. Hoff is focusing on working with the public to de-stigmatize mental health care and encourage young people to enter mental health careers. As a member of the PA Governor’s Challenge Team to prevent suicide among veterans, she does extensive training in self-care and suicide prevention for mental health professionals and the general public.
