Selecting Case Studies and Representating Places in Geography
The challenge of selecting and building case studies in geography is ongoing for teachers. Which places and regions should you include/exclude in your geography curriculum and how do you decide? What are we aiming for when we teach about places? How can we ensure that geographical concepts are illustrated through accurate context? How can teachers/students ensure that their representations of people and places are fair and truthful, and avoiding the pitfalls of Orientalism? Join us in person for this seminar at UCL Institute of Education. Geography teachers Ramya Rajkumar and Kate Stockings will be sharing their research and curriculum insights. Chaired by Dr Alex Standish. Register to book your free place.
