About this Event
Explore Your Inner World Through Visual Art
Ever find it hard to put your thoughts into words? You don’t have to.
Join us for an experiential, low-pressure session using Therapeutic Card Reading—a creative, visual entry point for self-understanding. Guided by an art psychotherapist, this session uses imagery, symbols, and metaphor rather than traditional talk-based methods to help you gain clarity on your internal world.
- Who It’s For: Adults (18+) interested in mental health, creative self-exploration, or visual approaches to wellness.
- No Experience Needed: No prior background in art, therapy, or cards required.
- What to Expect: A safe space (sometimes with the presence of cats) to reflect, observe, and gain fresh perspectives at your own pace.
What happens during the session - Therapeutic Card Reading
This approach uses projective techniques, allowing individuals to express their internal thoughts and feelings through visual stimuli, symbols, and metaphors found on therapeutic cards.
It intentionally avoids "predicting the future" and "giving you answers." Instead, it invites individuals to freely associate the meanings they find in the visuals with their own intersubjective experiences.
Session Structure: 60 mins
- Choosing a topic of interest
- Choosing 1-2 cards that resonates with you
- Guided prompting for deeper exploration
- Reflection and sharing
Topics of Interest: Friendship/sociability, Self, Love, Mood, Leisure, Body, Work, Family, Money, Meaning
[Please note that the list is not exhaustive as it is subjective to participants’ own life experiences.]
