Give a broken pot a second bloom by turning it into a charming mini garden at this hands-on Portland workshop.About this Event
Second Bloom: Broken Pot Mini Garden Workshop | Portland
A portrait session does not have to produce hundreds of nearly identical images.
Portrait Booth is a one-day East Austin pop-up built around a smaller, more deliberate process.
Reserve a 20-minute appointment, step into a simple portrait setup, and work with a photographer to create a physical instant-film portrait.
The session is intentionally short.
The number of exposures is intentionally limited.
There is no large digital gallery to review afterward and no beauty-retouching workflow attached to the physical portrait.
What happens during your appointment
You'll check in a few minutes before your reserved time.
The photographer will briefly review the portrait setup, help you settle into position, and make a small number of intentional instant-film exposures based on the ticket you selected.
The goal is not continuous shooting.
It is to slow the process down enough to pay attention to expression, posture, light, and one finished physical image.
This is real analog material
The physical portrait is created on instant photographic material.
It is not a digital photograph with a film-style filter added afterward.
Each physical photograph needs normal development time before it is ready to handle.
If an exposure does not develop correctly because of a confirmed film or equipment issue, the photographer may repeat that exposure so the stated ticket benefit can be fulfilled.
No beauty retouching
The physical analog portrait is not processed through skin smoothing, body reshaping, facial modification, AI beautification, or similar digital beauty editing.
For ticket types that include a preservation scan, the scan reproduces the finished physical photograph.
Basic file preparation needed to reproduce the photograph faithfully is permitted, but the portrait is not cosmetically altered.
What to wear
Arrive camera-ready in the outfit you want photographed.
Simple clothing, visible texture, solid colors, denim, tailoring, knitwear, and understated accessories generally work well with a minimal portrait setup.
You do not need to bring multiple outfits.
Each appointment is for one portrait subject and one primary look.
Privacy and image use
Purchasing a portrait appointment does not automatically grant the organizer permission to use your image in advertising.
Any promotional use of an identifiable portrait requires a separate opt-in.
