Artists Sean Fingleton and Anthony Bolton come together to mount a two person exhibition at Reds Gallery Dublin in November.
In Coastlines, Sean highlights his paintings and drawings of Glencolmcille, Howth and Clare. His creative process is rooted in close observation of the natural world, capturing the changing colours, atmosphere and rhythms of the landscape.
Imagined Cities is informed by Laban's movement dimensions, Platonic solids and the writings of James Blish, Italo Calvino, Gaston Bachelard and Henri Lefebvre. In these drawings, Anthony sees each image as a unique seed of a potential city, unfolding through symmetry, reflection and collision into fantastical, futuristic urban worlds.
Fingleton was born in Malin, Co. Donegal and studied art at Letterkenny RTC and the National College of Art and Design. He has held one-man shows with Taylor Gallery, Dublin and the Musashino Gallery, Tokyo amongst many others. He has also been the recipient of many and the Fergus Ryan including a GPA Award and the Fergus Ryan RHA Award.
Bolton is a trained actor, dramatic writer and self-taught artist with a lifelong interest in architectural form and human movement within it.
