Join us on Sunday, September 27th, between 1 pm and 4 pm at the Cathy Hillenbrand Community Room to shape cleaner air and calmer streets in Capitol Hill.
The Low Pollution Neighborhoods program is looking for your ideas for safer crossings, greener blocks, and easier ways to walk, roll, and bike to your favorite neighborhood spots. Together we can make everyday trips easier, reduce pollution, and build a healthier, more connected neighborhood.
What to Expect:

- An open house flow and flexible program so you can schedule your evening

Low-Pollution Neighborhoods are places with fewer car fumes, cooler and greener streets, and easier ways to get to everyday destinations by walking, rolling, or taking transit.
They are welcoming communities where cleaner air and safer, calmer streets make accessing your daily needs more comfortable. They support streets as community spaces where local businesses thrive, people choose to linger, and neighbors partner to shape the places they share.
The largest source of harmful air pollution in Seattle comes from motor vehicles. Pollution affects some neighborhoods much more than others, creating poorer air quality and negative health impacts. The Low Pollution Neighborhood program offers better ways to get around and experience your neighborhood, contributing to a healthier community and improved quality of life.
Over the next three years, SDOT is partnering with community members in Lake City, Capitol Hill, South Park, and Georgetown to identify and implement place-based solutions that reduce pollution and build healthier more connected neighborhoods.
Through $8 million from the Seattle Transportation Levy, we will identify innovative neighborhood solutions that can become a toolkit that every Seattle neighborhood can use.
