Sculptural Handbuilding with Julie LatayanWednesdays, October 28 – December 2 | 12:30–3:30pm
Explore the art of sculpting the human and animal form in this 6 week course with Julie Latayan. Students will develop their understanding of anatomy, proportion, composition, and visual storytelling while learning how to create dynamic, cohesive sculptures.
Working from photographic or digitally generated reference images, students will explore pinch pot and slab building techniques to create hollow forms. The class will focus on translating reference imagery into expressive sculptures while considering proportion, rhythm, movement, and narrative.
By the end of the course, students will have developed practical sculpting skills and a deeper understanding of anatomy and composition.
Clay is not included and can be purchased in Jane’s studio.
