Midnight Voyagers: Murakami-inspired
What happens in a living space past dusk? Does aliveness come with magic?
Midnight Voyagers is a collection of movement, dance, clown, mime and storytelling inspired by the strange territories we enter after dark. Through insomnia, hunger, desire, obsession and late-night wandering, six performers drift between the ordinary and the surreal, where cups become philosophies, bodies transform, elephants disappear, and a midnight craving might just lead to a bakery robbery. The stories are Murakami-inspired, which means that all that appears is not what is, and what is is not what appears.
Midnight Voyagers is a playful, dreamlike journey through the things that keep us awake. Pulling from Scratch-Easy IV in the series of movement shorts by Static Metamorphosis, this show will attempt to stay with you all the way back to your kitchen.

Static Metamorphosis
Static Metamorphosis is a theatre collective that began re-imagining comic strips onto platform theatre. Comics have this amazing ability to take us on a journey through landscapes, narratives and characters all just in a box, and platform theatre has that exact same capacity on just one platform. Formed by Lecoq-trained actor-director Eugene Chow in 2024, the multi-faceted group of artists is a growing collective that does everything from gestural theatre to dance to sound, bringing their talents onto performance spaces to enhance the theatrical experience of their devised themes.
The Substation
The Substation nurtures independent creative practitioners in collaborative community through the multi-disciplinary curation of contemporary arts practices from theatre and dance to film, music, literary arts, performance art, visual arts, and related fields. As one of Singapore's first independent, non-profit arts development platforms since 1990, The Substation today continues its commitment to the discovery of new talent, the value of diversity, and the development of creative practices with a vision to build a regional community through art-making and dialogue.
