About The Blau Center at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai:
The Jeff and Lisa Blau Adolescent Consultation Center for Resilience and Treatment at Mount Sinai serves as a clinical and research platform that aims to increase our understanding of mental illness, and develop new interventions for those suffering from and at increased risk of developing mental illness.

Guided by lived experience and evidence-based practices, the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City (NAMI-NYC) has offered life-changing support, education, and advocacy to families and individuals affected by mental illness. NAMI-NYC's services are free of charge and accessible to anyone who needs them.

About Our Speakers:
Keynote Speaker
Randye is the afternoon news anchor/All Things Considered local host for NPR affiliate radio station WSHU in Connecticut. She also channels her years of experience as a theatre/improv actor to inspire and create true human engagement in the workplace, at conferences, and beyond. She’s the author of two books: Happier Made Simple™ and Ben Behind His Voices. As the mother of a son with a serious mental illness, she's learned that the thread to being happier in the face of life’s challenges runs through connection to others - and in the self-talk that results.
As an actress, you’ve seen her in numerous theatrical, film, and television performances and have heard her voice in hundreds of audiobooks, ads, and narrations, as female voice talent for business and beyond. Learn more at: https://www.randyekaye.com/
Kristen is a NAMI-NYC In Our Own Voice presenter. As a self-proclaimed voice hearer, she is passionate about spirituality and expressive arts and how they can be used for self-help and healing. She loves to learn, write poetry, and make different kinds of art and music. Kristen has bachelor’s degrees in Public Health and Policy Studies from Syracuse University.
Candace is NAMI-NYC's Education Coordinator. Candace is an experienced educator and leader dedicated to advancing equity and inclusion in education. In previous roles, they taught special education at both the middle and elementary school levels, where they designed and implemented data-driven, individualized learning plans for students with disabilities. Candace holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with minors in Ethnic and Religious Studies. As a peer and a family member, Candace has a firsthand appreciation of NAMI-NYC’s impact and further fuels her passion for mental health education and advocacy.
