About this Event
SSRS and CCD have been working in Aberdeen this year to confirm where, if any, grey squirrels remain in the city. Two highly trained scent detection dogs, Sika and Tarka, and their handler, Libby, have been systematically surveying the city’s green spaces, sniffing for signs that a grey squirrel has recently been in the area. The dogs have been trained to detect grey squirrel hair and droppings, and give Libby a signal if they pick up the scent.
Come and see how the dogs cover an area, and what their signals look like.
The SSRS team will also be there to answer any questions you might have about red squirrel conservation in the North East.
This event is free but please book a ticket as spaces are limited.

This event is open to everyone but please don’t bring your own dog!
