About this Event
this Scene Study class is suitable for everyone who has completed the Acting Fundamentals course, has had previous actor-training, or is a professional actor. If you wish to practice applying your actor's toolkit within a rehearsal situation, then this is the one for you.
Key concepts and techniques explored will include: acting the scene as if the first time, sustaining a physical transformation, responding to redirection, responding truthfully from the perspective of the character, developing a real emotional connection - and how to work successfully in the professional rehearsal environment.
Collective's approach to acting synthesises exercises from some of the greatest practitioners, including Stanislavski, Meisner, Hagen, Adler, Laban and Katie Mitchell.
As the course is developmental, you are advised to book in for all seven sessions.
This class is led theatre director Joseph Junkere. Joseph has lead workshops, both in the U.K. and internationally, for companies such as the Old Vic, National Theatre Connections, the Ambassador Theatre Group and Disney. He is one of the founders of Type of Guy theatre company.
Actors trained at Collective in the last three years have gone on to work in Hollywood films, on Broadway, for the National Theatre, in the West End and in series for Netflix, HBO, BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
We are passionate about working with actors from underrepresented groups and we will always seek to break down barriers to access in professional actor-training. Scholarships are available for those who are facing challenging circumstances. If you want to learn more about how to apply, email [email protected]
