The best games are already in the scene with you.
We’ve all been there: We're standing on the backwall trying our hardest to find or add to the game. You're worried about jumping onstage because you ‘don’t have anything.’ It’s a lot of work and, believe it or not, the best games and premises are already in the scene right there with you.
Scene of the Game is a workshop about stopping the worry and building trust in yourself, your partner, and the show.
We are going to merge the focus of finding a clean, playable comedic pattern with radical commitment to our scenework and each other.
Instead of hunting for a gimmick, we are going to let the game find us. By leaning heavily into the scene’s foundations - who these people are, where they actually are, and why they matter to each other - the game becomes an organic byproduct of honest human relationships.
This is a two-hour workshop with 10-minute break. Please bring a water bottle and clothing you feel comfortable moving in.
