About this Event
You are invited to Scare Up the Vote!
Join us on the evening of October 30 for "Scare Up the Vote," a costume party in celebration of our collective power.
200K+ Georgians can't vote because of a felony conviction, but over 400K of us have had our vote restored. Make a plan to "Vote in Our Honor" and get our people to the polls on Election Day.
- Learn about Atlanta Community Support Project's efforts to increase ballot access and civic engagement for those still inside and returning home.
- Make a pledge to "vote in honor" of others who cannot. If you are currently unable to vote, make a plan to get friends and family to the polls.
- Meet our partners in the Rights Restoration Coalition of Georgia, learn about the history of felony disenfranchisement, hold space for those we've lost, and celebrate all we have overcome together.
Featuring:
Costume contest with cash prizes (costumes not required- but encouraged!),
Spooky beats by Godsauce Entertainment,
Yummy treats by Chef Meeko,
"Scaraoke," because singing is healing, and
Community Clothing Swap: bring one or two items of clothing you no longer rock, so someone else can give them new life.
This event is 18+. Please share and remind folks to RSVP, because space is limited.
*Note on registry compliance: There will NOT be children at this event, and it is NOT a Halloween festival. If you have questions about your ability to attend, please email [email protected]
