SBCV 2026 Fall Conference & Trade Show (In-Person with Remote Component)

The SBCV 2026 Fall Conference & Trade Show takes place in person on Friday, November 6; Saturday, November 7; and Sunday, November 8, 2026, at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel at 7551 Westminster Highway, Richmond, BC V6X 1A3. This is a hybrid event offering in-person attendance as well as remote attendance in real time. Only in-person attendees may attend our fabulous trade show.

The conference features 15 CVBC-approved CE credit hours of relevant and timely education on Employment Law for Owners, Associates, and Locums; Oral Surgery for the General Practitioner; Surgery: Back To Basics; CRI and Fluid Management in Critically Ill Patients; and Chronic Inflammatory Enteropathy and Pancreatitis Treatment.

Ticket prices include mid-morning and mid-afternoon refreshments each day, and lunch on Saturday and Sunday for in-person ticket holders. Zoom links will be provided for remote tickets. SBCV members enjoy a 50% discount on ticket prices as a benefit of membership. As an additional exclusive benefit, SBCV members only can purchase a Sunday non-veterinarian ticket for the 2-hour CRI and Fluid Management in Critically Ill Patients session at a discounted price. Our continuing education is developed for veterinarians and is aligned with the expectations of a regulated profession; however, we do not restrict attendance by non-veterinarians.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

IN-PERSON CATEGORY: If you are purchasing a ticket for the in-person event, your ticket is only valid for in-person attendance.

REMOTE CATEGORY: If you are purchasing a ticket for remote attendance, your ticket is only valid for remote attendance. Each ticket buyer MUST register with a unique email address - you cannot use an email address used by your practice or shared with any other person who is also registered to attend. If you are registering multiple individuals, please use a unique email address for each person.

Prices for veterinarian tickets are "per day," and there are no discounts if you do not wish to take a morning or an afternoon session. There are no refunds for any reason unless SBCV cancels the event. There is no price difference between in-person and remote attendance, as there are specific costs associated with each category.

CE certificates are issued in hard copy for in-person attendees and by email for remote ticket holders. You can earn up to 15 CVBC-approved CE hours during the SBCV 2026 Fall Conference & Trade Show.

Any notes or presentations from speakers are posted after the event at a special link which ticket holders receive after the event.

SBCV ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) IN-PERSON AND REMOTE: SBCV members are invited to attend our Annual General Meeting on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 5:30 pm. In-person attendance is in the Elmbridge Room, and remote attendance will be via Zoom (members MUST pre-register). This is a different link than for any CE session. There is no charge to attend the AGM. You MUST use your real name as your display name when you register for remote attendance.

There are often many dynamic factors to consider when managing critically ill patients, with
some patients requiring a "tower of power" of syringe pumps and CRIs to manage pain,
support blood pressure, correct electrolyte and fluid imbalances, and more. During this
lecture, the speaker will discuss some of the components of Kirby’s Rule of 20 that relate to
CRI and fluid management and will explain how participants can apply the rule in practice.
By the end of this lecture, attendees will be able to describe the ROSE theory of fluid
management, explain why more fluids do not mean better outcomes, and discuss ways to
set up CRIs in practice without a plethora of syringe drivers by using additives in fluids.
