Alchemist Events invites you to Empress Tavern on Wednesday, December 2 for Savor Sacramento, an exclusive tasting menu featuring Sacramento’s rising food superstars.
Located right below the Crest Theater, this incredible evening features an unforgettable meal by local culinary entrepreneurs, featuring 7 standout talents from the Alchemist Kitchen Incubator Program (AKIP) along with Executive Chef Scott Davidson.

Aileen's Delish Aileen's Delish brings authentic Filipino hospitality and heritage recipes to Sacramento gatherings. Known for celebrating rich, savory-sweet flavor profiles, Aileen serves handcrafted favorites from the Philippines- from crispy pork lumpia and savory chicken adobo to comforting pancit noodles.
Caribe Azul Chef Jessica Brown shares the warm, vibrant culinary heritage of Afro & Latine Carribean cuisine. Caribe Azul spotlights bold, soul-warming staples including tender ropa vieja (slow-braised shredded beef), golden empanadas, jerk seasonings, and classic Caribbean rice and peas.
Đây Là Flour Founded by head baker Nhung Nguyen, Đây Là Flour ("This is Flour") fuses traditional Vietnamese flavor profiles like pandan, coconut, and specialty tea with French-influenced baking techniques. Using natural wild-yeast sourdough starters and organic local grains, she crafts custom sourdough milk bread (shokupan), savory hand pies, and artisan pastries.
Meza California Chef Kasandra draws from her Arab and Mexican heritage to create Meza California’s harmonious flavors. Her menu seamlessly blends Middle Eastern and Mexican cuisine. Meza California serves handmade sourdough flatbread, artisan dips, spiced meats, and beautiful local vegetables from local Northern California producers.
Old Coyote Chef Pablo Rivas honors El Salvador's rich food culture through the centuries-old tradition of hand-patted masa pupusas. Old Coyote elevates this Central American staple by blending traditional heritage fillings with his signature California-style creativity. Pablo crafts everything from scratch, including custom spice blends and a magnificent 20+ ingredient mole sauce.
Sugar Coated Cupcakes Founded by mother-daughter duo LaQueanya and Mechiala Henry, Sugar Coated Cupcakes creates beautiful, delicious, and innovative desserts. They combine classic American cupcakery techniques with bold new flavor combinations that are always delightful. They’re also known for their delicate French macarons and an inclusive range of scratch-made vegan and gluten-free treats, ensuring everyone has a seat at the dessert table.
Troux Soul Deeply rooted in Black Southern culinary lineage and generational scratch-cooking, Troux Soul serves authentic comfort food classics. Their menu celebrates heart and tradition through signature dishes like lump crab cakes, slow-simmered pot roast, crispy fried chicken, creamy shrimp & grits, and scratch-made banana pudding.
Chef Scott Davidson Scott Davison, Executive Chef at Empress Tavern, brings decades of culinary experience. He’s well known for his expert craftsmanship and serious love of local produce, he is also a beloved teacher and mentor in the kitchen.
