About this Event
Satsang, Supper & Sacred Song With Spiritual Teacher Ben Smith
Satsang is a Sanskrit term meaning ' In the company of truth'.
We are very excited to announce our first ever Satsang, Supper, and Sacred Song gathering at Sage this Autumn - As we welcome International Spiritual Teacher Ben Smith to Belper for the first time.
We will also welcome back the wonderful Kirtan Nottingham team who dedicate so much of their spare time to Seva (service to others).
About Ben:
I was born in Leicester, UK, in 1993 and introduced to meditation at the age of six. At the time, my dad was undergoing a profound spiritual awakening after meeting a local master, a Divine Avatar who guided both of us.
Under the careful guidance of my Master, I practiced different and often challenging methods for years at a time, learning and developing through them as I came to understand myself more deeply.
I was also given the spiritual name Banaj (hence the domain name!). My journey has led to profound states and out-of-body experiences, but far more important and special than all of those things, it has led to a deep and personal connection with the Divine, one that I aspire to help others find.
Today, I share these insights through Inner Journey School my Youtube channel and in person events.
What to Expect:
Satsang:
Ben will lead us in a gentle group meditation, which will offer a chance to pause, breathe and see whether our busy minds will give us five minutes’ peace!
Afterwards, we’ll gather for a relaxed spiritual conversation exploring meditation, everyday life, our connection with the Divine and whatever interesting questions arise along the way.
Big questions, little questions and slightly unusual questions are all welcome. No previous meditation experience or particular beliefs are needed.
Just bring yourself, an open mind and perhaps something you’ve always wondered but never quite known who to ask.
Supper:
Sharing a simple, grounding Vegan (GF) meal, lovingly prepared as prasadam (blessed food) and eaten mindfully in community with The Food For all Nottingham Team who devote every Tuesday to serving hot, healthy and nutritious meals in Nottingham city centre.
Sacred Song:
Group Mantra Meditation lead by Kirtan Nottingham to close our beautiful gathering of hearts and minds.
What to bring:
An open mind and a gentle heart, water or a warm drink, journal and pen if you wish to make notes.
Ticket price:
Suggested donation £20 per person
Seva:
We are offering this event in service and as such are asking for donations of £20 including community dinner with all proceeds being given directly to Food for All Nottingham and Operation Smile UK - Operation Smile is dedicated to improving the lives of children with cleft conditions, through access to safe, free surgery and comprehensive cleft care.
This will be a really special event and we are so excited to share the day and evening with you. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions and do share this with those you feel may be interested, it really helps to get the word out.
With love,
Laurie, Ben and Kirtan Nottingham
