About this Event
Join us for the 33rd session of the Syracuse Actors Studio on Monday, November 16th, 2026, 7 PM- 10 PM, which will be our 3rd Annual SASGIVING at The Palace Theatre!
SASGIVING is our own Friendsgiving but at SAS! If you’ve ever wanted to be invited to a Friendsgiving, now is your chance. We will all be bringing a dish to pass (feel free to come anyway if you cannot), and we will also enjoy a smorgasbord of acting activities with us! It’s going to be a lot of fun!
Performances are back! We are looking for monologues and scenes. Please email Wendy Bryant, our Special Events Committee Chair, at [email protected] if you are interested in performing. We ask that monologues be no more than 3 minutes, scenes no more than 7 minutes, and that memorization be preferred.
Peter Mahan, SAS member & founder of Help Words Come Alive, the prelude to SAS, is teaching a segment called “Creativity of an Actor.”
We will continue our tradition of “Acting We Are Grateful For” with Wendy Bryant, an exposition of performances we love with 2 minutes of members telling us why they love the performance. If you would like to show a performance you love, find a YouTube clip under 5 minutes. We won’t be able to show them all, most likely, so we'll put them in a hat and draw them at random.
SASGIVING Improv is back! Join us for this fun annual exercise with holiday-themed prompts led by Wendy Bryant! We plan to do a warm-up exercise as well.
All are welcome! SAS is open to actors of all levels and backgrounds; whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, you are welcome to come and participate or observe. There is no barrier of entry.
We are looking for volunteers! We need help with operations: setup/breakdown/cleanup, welcome committee, tech help, photography. If you’d like to volunteer (we really appreciate it), contact our VP Laura Stisser at [email protected].
Concessions are available for purchase to support our host.
As always, at the end we will have time for announcements if anyone wants to plug a show, announce casting, or the like. Stay after as well to network and socialize.-
We also have a QR code you can scan to donate to SAS with your phone. As always, we will split donations 50/50 with our generous host, The Palace Theatre! Stay tuned for more info as we get closer to the event!
