About this Event
In A New American Landscape, Chicago-based photographer Sandro Miller surveys the aftermath of the devastating Colorado wildfires from the end of the last decade and the beginning of this one. Drawn to the project by his conscience, Miller set out to make a statement about the perilous path humanity is on, shaped by a system of consumption and excess that has brought us to what many consider a breaking point.
On view will be large-scale photographs allowing viewers to stand where Miller stood and see what the truth and the consequence of our actions looks like.
“My heart cried as I drove into these environments that just weeks before had been well-functioning communities going about their everyday lives: shopping, heading off to school, the park, work, church, the gas station... all the things we do every day living life in America. And now, nothing.”
- Sandro Miller
