Your October's Guest Artist, TRISTAN LAKE LEABU
Tristan Lake Leabu is a California-born singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor known for his gritty blend of vintage Americana, indie folk, and 1970s-infused rock and roll. Raised by artistic parents who steeped him in classic blues, jazz, and folk-rock, Leabu learned guitar at an early age and went on to pick up mandolin, harmonica, and lutherie. Cutting his teeth in the East Los Angeles and Topanga music scenes, Leabu developed an earthy, weathered songwriting style that balances muscular guitar riffs with raw, intimate vocal delivery. He has performed as a member of the alternative rock band Balto and collaborated across Southern California's roots and rock circles with veteran musicians. As a solo artist, his catalog leans into textured arrangements and storytelling reminiscent of Townes Van Zandt, Neil Young, and Wilco, highlighted by singles such as "Bright Soul".
