Samhaim: A Creative Journey through this Threshold of Autumn
with Catherine Willows

Samhain marks a sacred threshold—the earth releases what is no longer needed, and the Northern Hemisphere begins its descent into the darkness, turning its energy inward toward the stillness of winter to come. We too are invited to slow down, turning our attention toward the transitions and endings that have shaped our lives through this passing year. This is a season of mystery and the unknown, time to discover what may be hidden beneath the surface: deeper knowing, unexpected beauty, new perspectives, and possibilities that have yet to reveal themselves.
Together, we will attune to Nature and this sacred season within the Arboretum gardens, listen to the deeper rhythms moving through us, and invite our intuition into the creative process. Through expressive artmaking, we will enter this mid-autumn threshold and explore the mystery it holds. Artmaking becomes the portal through which we enter the mystery. Creativity becomes the elixir through which alchemy can open into discovery and transformation.
No artistic experience is needed, only curiosity, a willingness to listen inwardly, and an openness to discover what reveals itself. If you have a journal, bring that with you to use during the class but all other supplies will be provided.
Catherine Willows is a Registered Nurse, Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach, and Transformational Creativity Coach, and founder of Willows Coaching and Consulting. While holding sacred space, she guides adults in awakening their inner creativity — moving beyond the demands of daily life into greater flow, self-discovery, and joy through intuitive art-making processes. Catherine believes creativity and our connection to the natural world are deeply interwoven — both vital pillars of wellbeing, supporting nervous system regulation and inner equanimity, and together essential for living a meaningful, embodied life aligned with purpose and authentic expression.
