About this Event
Join VFW Post 8787 on November 6–7, 2026 for a weekend of BBQ, live entertainment, family fun, and patriotic celebration as we kick off Veterans Day weekend!
The Salute to Smoke BBQ Showdown features an IBCA-sanctioned BBQ Cook-Off, Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony, live music, Vendor Market, Veteran & Community Resource Fair, silent auction, raffles, giveaways, Holiday Toy Drive, and more!
Want to get involved?
We’re looking for Vendors, BBQ judges, volunteers, sponsors, and donations for our silent auction and event activities. Or simply show up, bring the family, enjoy some great BBQ, and help us celebrate our veterans and service members!
HELP US FILL THE TOY DRIVE!
We encourage everyone attending to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to our Holiday Toy Drive. Help us make the holidays a little brighter for military and veteran families in our community. One small gift can make a big difference!
Proceeds from the event will help VFW Post 8787 support veterans, deployed service members, and military families, including our adopted Soldiers and families of HHBN, 36th Infantry Division.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME — you do not have to be a veteran or VFW member to attend!Come hungry. Bring a toy. Bring the family. Support our troops. Honor our veterans.
