The UK Safer Internet Centre would like to invite you to a special event preparing for Safer Internet Day 2027 in Scotland. This event aims to inspire and enthuse attendees from across Scotland about the role we can all play in supporting Safer Internet Day.
Celebrated in around 170 countries, Safer Internet Day aims to empower children and young people to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively. Last year, 56% of 8-17 year olds heard about Safer Internet Day. Let’s reach all children and young people across Scotland!
Reflect on tech: exploring digital wellbeing and our relationship with technology.
Safer Internet Day 2027 will take place on Tuesday 9th of February, with the theme ‘Reflect on tech: exploring digital wellbeing and our relationship with technology’. This year, Safer Internet Day falls in the important months leading up to the implementation of Government restrictions, including a ban on social media accounts for under 16s. At this pivotal moment, we are challenging everyone, from government, to families, to the internet industry to reflect on tech. At this exclusive planning event for Scotland on Monday the 23rd of November, you will hear from the UK Safer Internet Centre and a range of speakers.
IMPORTANT: All attendees must bring valid photo ID to gain access to this event, as it is held in a government building.
Additional information about the event: This event is being held at the Scottish Government building, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh. There are a small number of accessible parking spaces avaliable for booking. The nearest train station is Edinburgh Waverley, which can be accessed by direct public bus services on Princes Street. There are several bus and tram routes serving the immediate vicinty of Victoria Quay. Parking spaces near the building can be found at Ocean Terminal, a 5 minute walk away.
