The critically acclaimed West End production Rumi: The Musical arrives at Dubai Opera. Created by Middle Eastern duo Dana Al Fardan and Nadim Naaman, the team behind the successful musical Broken Wings, this epic new production brings one of history’s most influential figures to life.
For more than eight centuries, the legacy of Rumi has transcended borders, faiths and generations. This powerful musical explores the transformative bond between Rumi and his mentor, Shams, and the profound impact of their extraordinary friendship on Rumi’s family and inner world. Through love, loss and spiritual awakening, Rumi’s journey from respected scholar to timeless philosopher and poet unfolds.
Inspired by the global reach of Rumi’s message, the music is a sweeping fusion of Middle Eastern sonorities, classical influences and musical theatre, with lyrics drawn from Rumi’s own poetry. Deeply moving and visually arresting, Rumi: The Musical is a celebration of art, spirituality and the enduring power of human connection.
