Some venues are haunted because of what happened within their walls.
Some are active because of the people who once lived, worked, suffered, prayed or died there.
And then there are places like Rowtons’ Museum of the Paranormal and Spirituality, where the building itself is only part of the story.
Housed within the historic Penuel Chapel in Carmarthen, Wales, Rowtons’ is not simply a venue with a handful of ghost stories attached. It is a museum dedicated to the strange, the sacred, the occult, the spiritual and the unexplained.
Inside sits an extraordinary collection of hundreds of artefacts connected to paranormal belief, spiritual practice, ritual, mourning, magic, religion and spirit communication.
The collection includes items such as antique Ouija boards, haunted dolls, saints’ relics, exorcism scrolls, witchcraft bottles, secret society regalia, Victorian mourning jewellery and ancient magical charms. The museum also cares for objects that are claimed to be haunted, cursed or connected with unexplained entities.
And for one night, Ghostly Nights will be investigating it after dark.
🕯️ WHAT TO EXPECT
Join the award-winning Ghostly Nights team for a full paranormal investigation of one of the most unusual locations we have ever visited.
Throughout the night, you will have the opportunity to take part in a mixture of traditional and modern paranormal investigation techniques, including:
- Guided paranormal vigils
- Victorian and modern investigative methods
- Spirit communication experiments
- Use of specialist paranormal equipment
- Small-group investigations
- Free time to conduct your own investigation
- Grounding and protection
Whether you are a seasoned ghost hunter, a complete sceptic or simply curious about the paranormal, you are welcome to join us.

Guests are asked to approach the museum with respect, caution and an open mind.
The artefacts housed within the building are not theatrical props. Many have deeply personal, spiritual, religious, historical or paranormal associations and must be treated accordingly.
Once the doors close and the lights go out, Rowtons’ Museum becomes a very different place.
Surrounded by objects connected with ritual, spirit communication, mourning, belief and reported paranormal activity, you will be investigating in an environment unlike almost anywhere else.
